Working process of energetic installations, e.g. Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), is based upon the fluid flow phenomena. Therefore, performance of engines (and not only the engines) can be more or less successfully predicted by numerical simulation using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology.
"Fidelity" of simulation results is basically limited by the level of model applied. From thermo- and fluid dynamic models formulated in one dimension (1D) to detailed numerical models for turbulent motion of reacting gaseous working fluids in realistic geometries spans the range of models applicable to problems in this domain.
Horsepower Lab Software, Inc. operates in area of internal combustion engines simulation. It carries out research and development of computer codes based on CFD that help to investigate engine working process numerically. Some of these computer codes are already marketed, others are in phase of research and prototyping. Services in field of remote computing are also provided.
